Welcome to Bread of Life Thrift & Grocery!
Bread of Life Thrift and Grocery is a non-profit Thrift and Grocery store, owned and operated by Bread of Life Giving and Sharing, based in Ava, Missouri. We are an all-volunteer charity with no payroll, so all proceeds go to those who are in need.
This store is the latest in our efforts to assist local residents with food, clothing and other basic household needs. It is guided by the following principles:
- We will buy locally sourced vegetables, meat, dairy and other products to help build up the local economy and form a more local supply chain for area residents.
- We endeavor to offer as many organic options as possible, and at the best price possible.
- We offer grass-fed beef/lamb/bison and pastured chicken without pesticides, herbicides, antibiotics, drugs, vaccines, etc.
- We offer locally raised, Cage-Free Certified Organic eggs at $3.99 a dozen.
- We endeavor to offer locally sourced heirloom vegetables, legumes & grains.
- Whenever someone has a need for food, clothing or other basic needs, we will do our best to provide it to them.
We accept donations of good saleable items during business hours only. We don’t take seasonal items (Easter/Xmas/Halloween, etc), Car Seats, or DVD/VHS tapes.
Bread of Life Thrift and Grocery is also a wholesaler for Azure Standard organic products. We stock some of their more popular organic items in our store, usually at cheaper prices than buying through a co-op.
